The Eagles trailed at halftime 14-7, capped by a 17 yard touchdown pass from Colby Childs to Trey Trenary.
After trailing 28-7 the Eagles closed the gap to 28-20 but were unable to hold off a late Falcons drive that put the game out of reach.
Rutherford had 111 yards rushing, one touchdown on the ground and a 70 yard touchdown reception.
