Washington Commanders Training Camp Information

ASHBURN, Va.- The Washington Commanders are preparing to open their 2024 Training Camp on Wednesday July 27, 2024 with practice starting at 9:00AM. Parking lots open at 7:30AM and the gates will open at 8:00AM.

COMMANDERS SELECTS NINE PLAYERS IN 2024 NFL DRAFT

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders selected nine players in the 2024

NFL Draft. The club selected four on the offensive side of the ball and five on the defensive

side of the ball. See below for a full list of selections:

2024 NFL Draft Notes

Dating back to 2011, Washington has now selected at least eight players in 13 consecutive

drafts for the first time since the league adopted the seven-round format in 1994.

Washington traded picks 40, 78 and 52 to Philadelphia in exchange for picks 50, 53 and 161.

Washington has selected at least two players with picks acquired via trade in each of the last

nine drafts.

Looking Back....2013 Redskins Rookie Camp

 ASHBURN, Va.- As training camp 2022 approaches, we take a look back at the 3rd and final day to the 2013 Washington Redskins Rookie camp held in Ashburn Va. A glimpse of the workout and interviews with Richmond Spiders Rodney Barnes and Daryl Hamilton, both defensive backs invited for a tryout along with the 2nd round pick for the Redskins David Amerson DB out of NC State.

Redskins Great Brig Owens passes away

ASHBURN, Va.- Washington strong safety Brig Owens, who became a mainstay of the team's secondary in the 1960s and 1970s and was a Ring of Fame inductee, died Wednesday morning. He was 79. 

Owens, a seventh-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 1965, joined Washington in 1966 and spent 12 seasons with the team. He started in 123 of 156 games, recording 36 interceptions and 10 fumble recoveries. He also scored five interceptions, three of which came during his first two seasons in Washington.
