PURCELLVILLE, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles pulled off a thrilling comeback last night at Wolverine Stadium in Purcellville defeating the Warren County Wildcats 31-29 after the Eagles defense stepped up and stopped a two point conversion to tie the game with 17 seconds left.

BERRYVILLE, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles defeated the Washington, WV Patriots 45-8 on homecoming at "the Felt". Peyton Rutherford had another big night, as did Kyle Baylor.
The Eagles turned the ball over early deep in their own territory, but the Eagles defense was able to get a fumble recovery at the one.
"That was a very big play, and we were fortunate." Eagles coach Chris Parker said, "Momentum just wasn't going our way in the beginning, and then we turned it around."
Peyton Rutherford added three touchdowns and gained 178 yards rushing on 24 carries. Kyle Baylor added 90 and was intricate in causing several turnovers for the Eagles defense to capitalize on.

"This was a big game. it was homecoming and everyone was hyped," Baylor said. "I was just getting after everybody doing what I got to do."
Colby Childs had another solid night passing going 10 of 14 for 166 yards including a 38 yard touchdown pass to Trey Trenary.
Kicker Nick Bahamonde had 6 touchbacks, was 6 of 6 on extra points and 1 of 2 on field goals, just narrowly missing a 39 yard attempt wide right.
"I just pushed it right, it happens." Bahamonde said.

BERRYVILLE, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles defeated the Washington, WV Patriots last night at "the Felt" 45-8 on Homecoming.
Interviews with Eagle running back / defensive back Kyle "Mr. Excitement" Baylor was all over scoring on the ground, grabbing 2 picks and defending several passes and clutch open field tackling.
Kicker / punter Nick "Baha" Bahamonde was 6 of 6 on PAT's and was 1 of 2 on field goals, nailing a 33 yarder with no time after being iced just before kicking. Bahamonde narrowly missed a 39 yard attempt wide right and was 7 of 7 on touchbacks. Nick also added a 55 yard punt to the Eagles Big Win.

The Clarke County Eagles (1-2) broke the ice as they won their first game of the season with a convincing 49-7 win at Waynesboro (0-4). The game was played on Thursday night for cautionary reasons due to Hurricane Florence.*
The Eagles Peyton Rutherford rushed for 176 yards on 12 carries and scored three times on the night.
The Eagles scored on their opening drive and never looked back, leading 42-0 at the half.

Quarterback Colby Childs was 8 of 11 for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns. Danny Lyman caught both touchdowns of 65 and 50 yards. Childs also added a touchdown on the ground. Evan Nichols scored the final touchdown for Clarke.
Clarke produced 427 yards offense, 284 rushing, 143 passing to Waynesboro's 205. 201 rushing, 4 passing.
The Eagles return home to "the Felt" on Friday night to host the Washington WV Patriots. Kickoff is set for 7:30PM at Wilbur M. Feltner Stadium on Westwood Road in Berryville. It is the Eagles Homecoming.

BLUEMONT, Va.- Clarke County High School Athletic Director Casey Childs announced yesterday that the Eagles game at Waynesboro High School has been changed to Thursday night at 7:00PM due to the impending bad weather, any changes will be announced.
BERRYVILLE, Va.- After a disappointing opening loss to Dominion, the Clarke County Eagles hoped to rebound on Friday as the opened their 2018 home season against local rival Handley. The Eagles fell late and the Judges came away with a 41-35 win.
Clarke County (0-2) started out strong scoring on their opening drive behind the power running of Peyton Rutherford. Rutherford scored the first of his four touchdowns going in from three yards out at 7:56 and with Nick Bahamonde's PAT led 7-0.
"We had the game and we let them back in," Eagles coach Chris Parker said. "It was a tough agonizing loss."
Handley (3-0) did not take long to strike back scoring just two plays and 40 seconds later when Malachi Imoh rambled 77 yards breaking several tackles along the way. The PAT failed and Clarke held a slim 7-6 lead.
Imoh went in for his second score and ran in the two point conversion to give Handley their first lead with 2:37 to go in the quarter.

Clarke then played their best ball of the game, starting a drive a the end of the quarter that culminated with a 1 yard Rutherford plunge. The Eagles scored three times in the second period holding Handley scoreless to take the momentum and a 28-14 lead into the locker room.
"We started off strong in the game in the first two quarters," Rutherford said. "We were killing them, and they just came out in the second half and beat us.
The Eagles defense was able to stuff the middle of the line forcing a couple turnovers, enabling Kyle Baylor to score from 12 yards and Rutherford added his third score a 5 yard run with 30 seconds to go in the half. For the second time in two games this season the Eagles scored just prior to the half ending and went in with the game momentum.

After coming out of the gates strong in the early third quarter, the Eagles went up 35-14 after Rutherford bulled in from one yard out. Rutherford ended up with 130 yards rushing. Baylor added 92.
It was all Handley after that. The Judges scored four unanswered touchdowns with quarterback Jacob Parker throwing 4 touchdowns in the second half, 3 in the fourth quarter.
D1 prospect Kevin Curry had three of those touchdown receptions and D'Andre James had one.
"I talked to the team, I didn't sugar coat it," Parker said. "It was tough, gut wrenching loss. We did some good things, and we need to correct some things."
Parker also went on to tell his team after the game that with an 0-2 start, the team's true character would be tested and they can start on making things right as they travel to Waynesboro next Friday.
Quarterback Colby Childs was 4 for 7 passing for 27 yards and added 23 yards rushing, summed things up for the team this way.
"We've just got to forgot about this game and keep practicing like we have been," Childs said. "We've just got to have each other's backs. If we do that the whole game, we'll win."

BERRYVILLE, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles fell at the hands of the Handley Judges on Friday night at "the Felt"41-35. Handley scored four unanswered touchdowns after trailing 35-14 in the third quarter.
Peyton Rutherford scored four touchdowns for the Eagles and Kyle Baylor added another. Kicker Nick "Baha" Bahamonde kicked 6 consecutive kick off's out of the end zone.
