Hunter Rogers takes it to the house against Manassas Park in the opening game of 2015 James Murphy / CCS |
"You have to play your heart out on every play." Rogers said, "You never know when you're not gonna see the field again. Just be humble and thanks your lineman."
The humble senior never took any credit without mentioning his team mates especially his line. Rogers numbers speak for themselves.
5022 yards on 603 carries, 8.3 average gain, 62 TD's, 25 receptions for 521 yards , 20.8 average catch and 5 TD's, 2 2pt conversions for 406 points scored. Considering he missed a few games with minor injuries and sat out many second halves when Clarke had big leads that's pretty impressive numbers.
Rogers transferred in as a sophomore from Millbrook and was an immediate factor in Coach Chris Parker's program. His first score came on a three yard touchdown run on August 29, 2014 in a 41-7 win over Berkeley Springs, WV.

"It's an awesome feeling to be able to break a record that's been there
so long." Rogers said, "I couldn't do it without my team and obviously
my offensive line, they have been doing great ever since I got here.
Every year I've been here I've had over a thousand yards and I couldn't
do it without my entire team and my offensive line and I just want to
thank them very much for that."
Rogers had many huge nights for the Eagles, one that comes to mind from this season was huge playoff performance against Buffalo Gap. Rogers rushed for 303 yards and 4 touchdowns. The previous week Rogers broke 200 yards in a playoff win over R.E. Lee.

"Hunter is something special." Eagles Coach Chris Parker said, "When he hits the hole he explodes. He's fun to watch. He's got great vision and worked extremely hard. I'm very proud of him."
