Delaney Named ODAC Player of the Week by SU Athletic Dept.

FOREST, Va. - Sophomore Cedrick Delaney has been named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week in selections announced Sunday afternoon by the league office.
#13 Cedrick Delaney
Delaney set new Shenandoah and ODAC records Saturday afternoon with 321 yards rushing on 41 carries in the Hornets 42-34 loss at league co-leader Emory and Henry.
The record day, which also included three rushing touchdowns and another receiving, broke a Shenandoah mark set in 2004 and an ODAC record that had stood since 1998.
Anthony Frates '06 had set the previous SU mark of 207 yards in the 2004 regular season finale against Methodist.
Delaney's 332 yards of total offense is the best effort in the league this season and ninth best in ODAC history.
In the process of setting the new rushing mark, which is believed to be one of the top five performances in Division III this season, Delaney also set a new school record for season rushing yards.
With one game left, Saturday at Washington and Lee, Delaney has 1174 yards rushing. This breaks the previous mark of 1157 set by Keone Kyle in 2009.
This is Delaney's first conference weekly honor.
