Eagles knock off Falcons to stay undefeated

BERRYVILLE, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles remained unbeaten as they defeated the Central Falcons 13-7 before a packed crowd at Wilbur M. Feltner Stadium on Friday.

Eagles running back Kyler Darlington scored the Eagles 2 touchdowns after amassing 180 yards on the ground.

The Eagles line play was again stellar as the Eagles pounded the ball from their opening drive and were successful in holding the high powered Falcon offense to one touchdown just before the first half as the teams went into the locker room tied at 7-7.

The Eagles took the lead in the 3rd quarter as Darlington went in for his second score on a sweep down the right sidelines breaking several tackles along the way and carrying Falcon defenders with him. After a penalty on the Eagles PAT, the kick was missed and the score remained 13-7 going into the final quarter.

The Eagles defense bent but did not break on Central's final drive. The Falcons were able to get to the Eagles 7 and broke a run up the middle as the Eagles defense stripped the runner and Titus Hensler recovered his second fumble of the night at the Falcons 1 yard line and the Eagles were able to run for three consecutive first downs with Darlington and Cordell Broy to run the clock out for the win.

The win moves Clarke to 3-1, 1-0 in the Bull Run District and Central falls to 3-1 overall and in the district.

The Eagles will travel to Strasburg to face the undefeated 3-0 Rams next Friday, kickoff is 7:00PM
