BERRYVILLE, Va.- The talk in the area last Friday was on the big Bull Run Showdown at Feltner Stadium between the District's two undefeated teams. When the smoke cleared the Central Falcons reigned supreme with a 40-0 shutout of the Eagles on Homecoming.

" A very tough loss, we're not used to this," Eagles coach Chris Parker said. "Central's got a very physical good ball club. It's a tough loss, were not used to it, that's a good problem."

Central (6-0, 1-0) took advantage of Clarke (6-1, 0-1) turnovers and scored four times in the first half to put the game out of reach by the intermission.

Clarke's leading rusher Peyton Rutherford gained 129 yards on 22 carries but was unable to cross the goal line for the first time this season. Rutherford had 19 rushing touchdowns going into the game.

Central used a balanced attack utilizing several players to continually move the ball on the Eagles. The Eagles were able to settle down in the second half and move the ball, but never could manage to put a score together.
