Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center – Richmond, Va.
Tackle Brandon Scherrff:
On how training camp has been for him these first couple days:
“It’s going well. It’s a dream come true for me to
be in the position I’m in right now. We’re just trying to come in each
and every day and learn from Coach [Bill] Callahan, and just come out
here and take what he taught us in meetings
and take it out on the practice field.”
On if he finds the extra work the offensive line gets after practice to be beneficial:
“Yeah, absolutely. Anytime you can get extra work
in, especially with Coach and then all the veteran players, it’s going
to be a benefit to you. Every minute spent on the field, it’s always
work. Whether it’s special teams. he’s always
got something for us to do during special teams and he always has a
little extra for us after practice.”
On the focus of the work the offensive line does after practice:
“Learning the technique and what you need to work on individually.”
On gaining the respect of his teammates:
“I think it’s going well. I’m just trying to mesh
in with the older guys and trying to learn from them. I’ve got a lot of
great guys that are helping me move along, so I’m just trying to take
each day, improve on something I didn’t do yesterday
and just try to learn from the older guys.”On facing linebacker Ryan Kerrigan:
"Every practice I get to go against one of the best guys in the NFL. That just helps me out. He's a great football player, he's a great person and he;s a hard worker. So he's going to push me to do my best and I'll try to do the same for him."
On how comfortable he would be playing at guard if asked:
"I think I'd be pretty comfortable, that's why we're working on it. I try to do whatever Coach asks me to do. Like I said, the more versatile you can be, the better, so if you can play two spots, that's better than one."
