Eagles remain undefeated as McDonald breaks school passing record

BERRYVILLE, Va- The Clarke County Eagles moved their unbeaten record to 8-0 with a 48-14 win over the Manassas Park Cougars at Wilbur M. Feltner Stadium on Senior night.

Senior QB Sean McDonald hooked up with his brother Brett on the first play from scrimmage to break the school passing yardage record and PA Announcer Tommy Cain made the announcement and the game was stopped briefly as former record holder Duane Clarke along with former Eagle Coach Don Specht congratulated McDonald as did his parents.

"It's hard to put it into words," Eagles Coach Chris Parker said. "Sean is one of the hardest working young man I have coached in 32 years. The fact that he completed the pass to his brother Brett makes it even more special. They will always have something to talk about."

The Eagles wasted no time putting this one away as they led 41-0 at the half with six different Eagles finding the end-zone and the Eagles defense yielded nothing in the first half and had several turnovers. Bryan Wallace was a virtual one man wrecking crew as seen in the Game of the Week.

Jordan Turner made his return to action and scored on a 5 yard run. Also scoring in the first half  wee Sean McDonald (1 yd run), Vince Zdouba 4 yd td from Sean  McDonald, Justin Dulaney 18 yd td from McDonald, Hunter Rogers (2 yd run), and Jaxon Ottobre (1 yd run), Levi Mayo was 5 of 5 on P.A.T. with one failed P.A.T. pass attempt by McDonald.

The Eagles scored one more time in the second half as Chris Keim went in from 1 yd out. Manassas Park got on the board with a James Duvall (1 yd run) and Jonathan Bunner (1 yd run). Jose Alfaro was 2 of 2 on P.A.T.

Vince Zdouba received the Malloy Ford Unsung Hero award and Chris Sefton was the Malloy Ford Halftime Field Goal Champion.

The Eagles finished their regular home season and will the end the season on the road with games at George Mason on Oct. 31, and William Monroe Nov. 7.

Clarke County Sports will follow the Eagles as long as they remain alive in the Playoffs. #CLARKESTRONG
