The Redskins extended their winning streak to three games
and evened their record at 6-6. The Giants - who won the first meeting between the NFC East rivals, 27-23 on Oct. 21 - slipped to 7-5.
Washington scored the go-ahead points early in the fourth quarter. Robert Griffin III connected with Pierre Garcon on an 8-yard touchdown pass and Kai Forbath converted the ensuing extra point to give the Redskins a 17-16 lead they would not relinquish.
Garcon finished with eight receptions for 106 yards. Alfred Morris churned out 124 yards on 22 carries. Griffin completed 13 of 21 passing attempts for 163 yards and also rushed for 72 yards.
London Fletcher led the Redskins defensively with 12 combined tackles. Madieu Williams added seven stops. Fletcher extended his consecutive games played streak to 236, tied for the longest active streak in the NFL.
Washington will host the Baltimore Ravens at FedEx Field on Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to support the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation “Touchdown for Tots” toy drive.
