Foster reportedly tears ACL in first day of OTA's

ASHBURN, Va.- The Washington Redskins defense took a big hit when 1st year Redskin Reuben Foster went down mid way through yesterday's non contact practice at the Inova Sports Performance Center at Redskins Park.

"Yeah, he’s going to get his MRI, and CT stuff and all the other tests he has to do. We don’t have any information right now," Redskins coach Jay Gruden said after practice. "Just ran through a gap and stepped on [Tyler] Catalina’s foot and landed funny on his left leg so we’re going to get that checked out. We’ll hope for the best right now until we get the results. But, very concerning for sure. I’ll just have to wait and see before I get too emotional about it."

Several media sources are reporting Foster has torn his ACL and may also have additional artery damage near his left knee including the NFL's Networks Ian Rapoport tweeted on Monday.
Foster, a third year NFL veteran was signed by the Redskins after the San Francisco 49'ers released the Alabama linebacker amid possible domestic violence charges that have since been dropped.

Several former Tide team mates were looking forward to Foster joining the Burgundy and Gold and were hoping to put all the negativity behind them.

"I didn’t [see his injury]. It is disappointing, but we cannot really say anything until his MRI, just waiting on that right now," Jon Allen said. "Personally, I think everything happens for a reason. God has his plan, you do not always know what he is going to do, but you got to have faith and like I said, we do not even know what happened yet, so we will have to wait for the MRI. He is definitely in my prayers and trust me, I know Rueben, he’ll be fine."

Clarke County Sports will post any official updates from the team on the status of Reuben Foster's injury and projected recovery.

Another season begins

ASHBURN, Va.- The Washington Redskins held their annual Rookie / Free Agent camp this past weekend at the Inova Sports Performance Center at Redskins Park.

All of the 2019 draft selections along with several college free agents and invited 1st year veterans were present.

First round selections Dwayne Haskins and Montez Sweat garnered much of the attention, both standing out in their performances.

When asked about Haskins running the offense, Redskins coach Jay Gruden replied, "It’s been positive. It's been a good experience so far to get to know him, get some plays and watch him learn and then watch him take it to the field. Yesterday, he had a great day. Today the defense played a little better, but it’s just a matter of progression right now and installation. We’re at the very bare minimum right now, but I’m very impressed with his skillset for sure. He can really spin it."

Sweat was equally impressive to the coaching staff.  "I have no doubt that he’s going to play a lot," Gruden said. "The skillset that he has is quite evident. You see his length and then you watch him run after practice and he’s faster than anybody we have probably right now.
