WINCHESTER, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles (2-1) used a relentless ground attack and compiled 482 yards rushing with three backs breaking the 100 yard mark to defeat the Handley Judges (0-4) 42-7 on Saturday at the Handley Bowl in the Clarke County Sports Game of the Week.

"It's a big win for us, I am very proud of our guys," Eagles Coach Chris Parker said. "It's a great environment for a game, especially high school, were not used to playing on Saturday so we weren't sure how we we do, but I thought our guys did a great job."

The Eagles wasted no time as they took the opening kickoff and mounted a drive that ended with Hunter Rogers 1 yard touchdown run. Rogers gained 158 yards on 16 carries and scored 3 times on runs of 1, 7 and 27 yards.

"I think it was a great effort from all of us," Rogers said. "Coming off the loss to Millbrook we had to step it up a bit and we all did that."

Handley answered on their next drive and tied the game as Sergio Martines went in from one yard out and it appeared a battle was in the making, however the Clarke defense paced by Sam White, Julius Grant and Bryan Wallace stepped up after the opening drive and shut down the Judges for the remainder of the game.

"We might have lost last week but we knew we had to prepare and get better for this week and start the win streak up again," Grant said. "We studied them [Handley] on film and made the necessary adjustments we needed to make."

The Eagles continued to move the ball on the ground and had gained over 300 yards by the end of the first half and took a 28-7 lead into the locker room and never looked back.

Quarterback Jordon Turner rushed for 104 yards on 11 carries and had a 1 yard td run and scored the ensuing 2 point conversion. Turner was 1 of 3 passing for 11 yards.

"Our game plan is to always run and that's what we did," Turner said. "I've always wanted to play here, so it feels good to come here and get a win.

Eagle running back Matt Dang rushed for 102 yards on 5 carries and scored on a 36 yard TD.

Greg Shippa rushed 3 times for 21 yards and scored on a 2 yard touchdown run.

The Eagles defense recorded three quarterback sacks for -13 yard.
