Eagles continue to gain momentum move to 3-0

WINCHESTER, Va.- The Clarke County Eagles moved to 3-0 on Saturday defeating the Handley Judges 31-10. Peyton Rutherford rushed for 224 yards and for the third time this season scored 3 touchdowns on the ground. Rutherford has rushed for 9 touchdowns gaining 572 yards on 79 carries for an average of 7.2 yards per carry. Rutherford has also added a touchdown receiving and a point after to account for 61 points in 3 games.

Kyle Baylor added a score rushing for 88 yards on 11 carries. Baylor has 196 yards on 26 carries for an average of 8.9 yards per carry. Baylor also averages 24.1 on kick returns and 20.3 on punts and has scored twice this season for the Eagles.

Colby Childs was 3 of 4 passing for 83 yards. 2 of those passes went to Lucas Rogers for 61 yards. Rogers has 131 yards on 6 receptions this season for an average catch of 21.8 yards.

Nick Bahamonde added a 22 yard field goal, and is 13 of 14 on extra points this season.

The Eagles defense has been well rounded, with several players contributing. Bryan Wallace and  Rico Nappi lead the team in total tackles with 38 each, Wallace leads the team with 6 sacks. Lucas Rogers, Ed Buzalsky, Ben Sprouse, and Kyle Anderson each have at least 25 total tackles.

Cole Lawson picked up his 2nd interception of the season and Kyle Baylor picked one off as well.

The Eagles return to "the Felt" this Friday to host the Waynesboro Little Giants (1-2). It is Little League night and local  youth teams will be on the field to welcome the Eagles. Kick off is 7:30pm at Wilbur M. Feltner Stadium, on Westwood Drive in Berryville.
